Thanks for stopping by!
I am freelance writer and photographer based in Melbourne, Australia.
In the 2000s I worked for State government for some years, including as a performance audit manager in the Auditor-General’s office and policy roles in the Premier’s department and local government.
Before that I completed a PhD in Australian foreign policy history with the thesis Australia and Britain’s Withdrawal from Southeast Asia, 1965-1971 with a focus on Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. I have published on Australian policy towards West New Guinea in the late 1950s. I tutored in world history after 1945 at Deakin University from 2001-2003, including political, social & cultural and economic history.
In the 1990s I studied music composition at Sydney Conservatorium of Music and taught music history and composition at Newcastle Conservatorium while completing a Bachelor of Arts in history and a Diploma in Education.
My joys and interests are many and include travel, bike riding, swimming, bushwalking, cooking, gardening, golf, and anything covered by literature and the arts.
